Aww, poor birds

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 1:19 PM
Never gave it much thought before but now I know - yes, even birds can sit with hunched shoulders.
We just had a modest little snowstorm when I noticed several rooks sitting on benches in the tree behind my apartment. They sat there with hunched shoulders, their heads retracted as far as possible and their whole posture screaming 'Misery!!!'
Felt sorry for them. Will serve them a nice portion of peanut butter later. They love it!

The weather and other excitement

  • Dec. 19th, 2009 at 1:23 PM
It's now 12.55 PM and -6 Celsius outside. Add the wind and it feels like, I don't know, -15 or something. Entering the shower is a real challenge now. Central heating everywhere (blessing!!!) and even in the shower but that doesn't help when two small windows there can't close. Brr.
Four layers of clothes (including my winter coat) and tights under my jeans and ejab was ready to face the outside world. I don't care. If that's the prize to pay for snow, I'll happily pay it. Ever noticed how much younger your skin looks because of the cold?
I really really feel sorry for those of you without central heating! Hope you can cope?

Oh, and it seems that finally I will be able to move to another apartment. Yes yes yes! Thanks to a new system (which gives poor people extra discount on their rent) I probably can afford it. Already calculated and checked but the housing association has to do the official checking and when that's done and agreed on - whoosh!
It's a huge flat for a single person like me - 71 square metres with three bedrooms and a huge balcony. And on the 10th floor. Oh, the views!
I went to stare through the windows yesterday. *g* The previous tenants left their laminate on the living room floor. Personally I'm not a great fan of laminate. Yes, it's very practical when you have animals but still, I just don't like it very much. Will keep it, though. Some large squares of carpet and voilĂ ! Saves me 45 square metres of carpet.
Oh, please let it be true! No more screaming and jumping children upstairs, no more angry police dogs and officers kicking in doors below me... is that even possible?

Snow snow snow snow!!!!

  • Dec. 17th, 2009 at 9:57 PM
First - thank you so much for the snowflakes, [info]erastes! Hope you got mine? You'll be very interested in this post, I think. Because we got:

Snow!

And what makes it even better - it is heading your way! Brace yourself, Brits! We in the east of the Netherlands got a mere 5 centimetres but the people in the north and mid part of the country got up to 50 centimetres!
So with a bit of luck you'll get your part later this night or tomorrow!
Yay!!!

A favor please?

  • Dec. 13th, 2009 at 7:08 AM
Hey guys.

So there's this blog I watch sometimes because I think the person writing it is sometimes really brilliant--mostly as a writer--and apparently she/he has a chance to do something great with themselves if they win this pitiful little competition/awards thing for Best Blogger to Follow. Anyway, I've quoted their work at the start of fic before and written several stories inspired by it. And I know this probably doesn't mean jack shit to anyone--hell, it hardly matters that much to me--but I figure it probably matters to them and it takes like 2 seconds. So do me a big favor, please, and go over here: http://mashable.com/owa/votes/category/31?c=31 and vote for pleasefindthis.blogspot.com

PLEASE?!

Thank you.

And yanno, I guess you could actually read some of the blog too, but it's not necessary. Heh.

Sometimes commercials are wonderful!

I can't help it. I'm a sucker for this Christmas commercial:

Just love the atmosphere and the lights. Those magical lights!
Think that's my inner child speaking here. :D

[What is this journal?]
A weird assortment of crazy HP fanfiction. If you enjoy it, please leave me comments. I love reading them. Please disregard the below advertisements. They allow me to be a little more of an lj whore.

[Who am I?]
I'm just a little oddball who creeps around and writes. Don't think much of me, just tell me what you think about my writings. I'm a recluse... I don't exist... *vanishes behind cape*

[What is a GhostMarch?]
The term GhostMarch comes from The Kyle Mann Combo's song, "March of the Ghost". Awesome song, kickass band.
